July 11 2010 Partial Solar Eclipse from Argentina

The GAMA club observed the solar eclipse Sunday, July 11th, from Mendosa, Argentina. It was a total eclipse for places in south Pacific Ocean. From Mendosa it was only a partial eclipse just before sunset. The observing site was a place close to "El Carrizal", a lake about 25 miles south of Mendoza.

There was a dust storm here during the phenomenon so the dust in the atmosphere worked as a natural filter making possible to observe the setting Sun without filters.

The photo Leo took shows the sequence of the eclipse. He used a digital camera Canon A570IS and a 7x50 binocular with mylar filter.
